POSITION STATEMENT ON COMMUNICATION WITH RESIDENTS
Regular communication with Township residents, through various formats, allows Harris Township to convey timely news and data. It is also important that residents have an opportunity to convey their thoughts on important issues. This process promotes transparency and open and honest communication by all parties.
A recent example is adding the Township Planning Commission to the viewing schedule of CNET. This addition provides residents an opportunity to share input in early stages of development of ordinances, or other items of potential interest to neighborhoods, rather than waiting until an issue is before the Supervisors.
Additionally, the Township distributes a regular e-newsletter. To be added to the newsletter list, send a message to [email protected]. Harris Township uses Facebook and all meeting agendas and proceedings are posted. We also maintain an attractive and informative website containing details on available programs, services, activities, zoning, planning and staff contacts.
